Traditional Balkan dishes| such as cabbage rolls  schnitzels and pan fried veal or the Village Grill meat platter which even the restaurant notes is “for a very hungry couple”. The great value set menus are well known.

Village Grill is where you come for good hearty comfort food in a homely authentic setting. Enjoy the music of a Russian violinist on a Friday night and while away the hours beside the fireplace in winter or on the terrace on a long summer evening.

The alpine atmosphere of this family destination and function centre contributes to its polyglot feeling. Sloping pine-board ceilings soar above exposed steel beams. There is a brightly lit bar, a wall of glass bricks and a combustion heater and exposed flue. Matt Monro and Bing Crosby croon through the sound system. The only thing missing is the '70s-style, exposed-brick feature wall, but I believe it is lurking under the beige-grey render.
